In Canelo's defense though, it is insulting for him to fight Lara for that belt, which got taken away because he lost to Mayweather. Lara never earned the belt. The belt should have been thrown in the trash where it belongs, or they should have allowed Canelo to keep it.

So I do think Canelo not wanting the belt is very legit. But at the same time, it could DEFINITELY be a very convenient excuse to not have to weigh-in at 154 lbs.
