I can tell right now from this thread that there are going to be a lot of sad Cotto fans Saturday night. Sergio is going to destroy him and he really only has to be 50% to do it. He is faster then Cotto, stronger then Cotto, bigger then Cotto and on top of all that he is a very accurate puncher as well and he has a lot of stamina. But this all remains to be seen because Sergio has been gone for some time now and he isn't a young guy either. I still believe Cotto is going to take a massive beating because all the odds are stacked against him. Stylistically Martinez is in the favor and like I said everything else he favors as well.

Cotto will look good for the first few rounds before Martinez hurts him, then he goes into survival mode.

Second co.paring Cotto to Pavlik is ridiculous, yes Pavlik hit hard, but he was a first face, 1-2 brawler with no movement, Cotto will be moving all over the place hitting Martinez from diferentes angles, and ripping Martinez to the body. Has never faced a fighter like Cotto, and he will be reminded Saturday night!
Lets also keep in mind Cotto is......well kind of chinny even at 147, ffs Floyd hurt him in their fight so Sergio for sure has enough power to ko him. Also you are grossly overstating Cotto's boxing ability, its one thing to look slick against a punching bag like Plasterito but he will be at all kinds of physical disadvantages against a Sergio who is mad and feels disrespected as the champion and wants to make a point here.

For all those who THINKS that martinez is the better fighter. He has been dropped in his past four fights. Got a gift decision in his last fight vs murray. He beat an old pavlik who has only jermaine taylor has his notable win. An old taylor as a matter of fact who arthur abraham did better than pavlik. Chavez jr. didn't throw any punches until the last round, because he is the type of fighter who needs to set his feet to throw those big shots, so since he was down on the scorecard he just started swinging punches and dropped martinez. Matthew macklin is a nobody, darren barker is a nobody, Serhiy Dzinziruk is a nobody, Paul Williams was a good fighter but he did lose to carlos quintana, and they would have fought a 3rd time but williams got into that accident. Erislandy Lara got robbed in that Pwilliams fight. He couldn't even beat kermit cintron convincingly, and as a puertorican I can tell you cintron is ass. Other than those fighters, he has fought plenty of bums in spain and argentina to pad up that record. Oh, and when he fought for the 1st time in nevada, he got ko'd by margacheatoh and then went back to spain to fight more bums. Now, styles makes fights. I see some people here saying that cotto gets hit alot. yes he did, thats because whenever he used to throw punches he would switch up his stance and that was when he was vounorable(spellcheck). Cotto understands that now that roach pointed that out to him, (the main reason pacquiao was even able to tag him so many times). Stylistically wise, He is back to the old cotto, dig that hook to the liver, something that he has gotten away from in recent years due to his different trainers. Mayweather knows this, (dont get mad mayweather fanboys, im just using him as an example). When cotto was 31-0 and just beat mosley, he was a body hooking machine. Then, a month later after the ricky hatton fight, mayweather retired saying that he has nothing left to prove, meanwhile cotto and him was in the same weight division. He only unretired after cotto lost to margarito, changed trainers, changed his STYLE of fighting, giving up the left hook to the body for a jab and being more defensive.

          WAR COTTO!!!! PUNETA!!!!

You wrote a mini e-book for nothing....Cotto lost his most recent step up fights so what's your argument? Cotto beating a one eyed Margarito who came in for a retirement paycheck and delvin rodriguez makes him the better fighter right now? LMAO...put your points where your mouth is son. I like Miguel but he's been no better than an iffy betting choice for years now...

A one eyed Margarito no less..people seem to forget what Cotto's most recent wins have actually been. He lands a thundering jab and suddenly he's fast and agile..Cotto is all offense these days because he's entirely too slow to sit there trying to time shhh. Unless they send Cotto into the ring with metal stilts to stand on expect his knees to buckle early and often.

hhmmm styles makes fights... stylistically, he was barely using that left hook to the body. Learn that styles makes fights, then come talk. A picture up of jack johnson for what? Funny how in the 1st margarito fight, he only started wearing down around the time the pads started getting harder. In the second fight, cotto was outboxing him

No wonder Cotto's balls are the size they are, so many delusional mofos swinging on them. The only way Miguel takes this is if Sergio's knees are still messed up.
