If Froch fights Chavez Jr in Vegas, won't DeGale become mandatory for Bika's WBC strap? Seems like a good way to go, if he's after a title shot.

DeGale was already mandatory for Bika but they went down the IBF route. Not sure what that does to his position with the WBC...

Oh, really? I thought Chavez Jr was parachuted into the mandatory spot. If DeGale is set on a world title in his next fight, Bika is really the only option.

Tough fight, mind. Shame that Paul Smith beat them to Arthur Abraham.

Groves was his mango right? Ibf mandated that fight, do he has the voluntary to go after that big fight

I don't think he does, DeGale consistently talks about Froch having 120 days to make the fight. Hearn thinks they can do a deal, time will tell.

thats like the IBF stripping wlad for fighting stiverne instead of say someone like fury.. cmon sanctioning bodies.

              am i wrong here?
As much as I dislike Wlad that is a totally different scenario you described. Stiverne is the WBC heavyweight champ while Chavez doesn't even have a world title. There is no comparison to be made there.

Chavez Jr is still living off his father's name and if it wasn't for his father he would be virtually irrelevant.

I'm pretty sure Hearn wants Degale to fight Bika for the WBC title and Froch to fight Chavez Jr in Vegas. If Degale wins the WBC belt then perhaps Froch might then fight him.

I think Froch should fight him right now though, it's only fair for Degale. The funny thing about the video interview is that Froch has previously said that he thought Degale beat Groves in that fight but now he's not mentioning that, he's just going by the official scorecards. I wasn't expecting that change of tune.

Hearn says he's pretty sure the IBF will grant an exemption.
