Don't need one, what Haymon is running is basically a "BOXING AGENCY" he can send his fighters to fight under any promotion especially the ones who are not "OFFICIALLY SIGNED" to GBP. Promotions are not as important as THEY THINK. Fans order fights for the Fighters and for Good Match Ups, not for the Promotion and to see Oscar sitting Ringside watching the fight.

"Golden Boy has a written contract with Richard Schaefer that ends March, 2018."

I also read he is large shareholder of Golden Boy. Which it is in his best interest $$$ for him if Golden Boy does well.

Indeed... but this is exactly the issue with Haymon... he's standing firmly astride the legal firewall that divides promoters and managers. Where do his legal responsibilities lie? As things stand if the **** hits the fan, the fighters can't hold him responsible if they get screwed over - this is the major point of the Ali law - making sure that there is some party who can be held legally accountable for upholding a fighters interests. It appears however that Haymon can do what he wants - his contracts apparently give him unilateral control over a fighters career, but without the fiduciary responsibility that would come with a managerial role.

In short he might be able to get them good fights and good paydays, but if and (perhaps more significantly) when the coffers run dry there ain't a damn thing the fighters can legally do about it cos he's got no legal responsibility to make sure they're getting the best paydays he can get them.

And on another site GBP said that they expect Schafer to fulfill his obligations up to 2018 which may mean he will do that, or form his own company and deal with a GBP lawsuit which could be a harsh one based on a clear conflict of interest, even if Oscar was found to be a nut case during a certain period of time. Those fishnets might be rearing their ugly heads soon.
