My personal feeling is that Schaeffer, Haymon and SHO have been working towards building a UFC model boxing promotion - how far along with that they have got and whether they have sufficient power/ money to continue will become apparent in time.

Just what brought things to a head right now will become apparent later - the Duva Vs GYM / Haymon claim is likely to be the tip of the iceberg and seemed to me was never a case of an isolated legal action. Seems to me that something had been stirring in the murky world of boxing promotion for a while, Haymon treading on too many toes perhaps? Whatever.

That is a personal opinion. With that said, It isn't immediately clear Schaefer is done with the sport of boxing. He has enough friends in high places and contacts to do his own thing.

i expect to see haymon fighters fight each other now, which is good news for fans. broner vs thurman would be great. or garcia vs maidana, porter vs matthysse, and so on. fans are sick of seeing these fighters fight nobodies.

The gains are gains. The point is maywrather didnt hurt abd a few analysts think it helped. Investors are not regretting it.
