also aren't Cotto and Juan Manny left overs?
Ledwaba was the best at 122?

Both the ring and boxing monthly did not have Ledwaba the best at 122 when Pac fought him.

Ledwaba was the IBF champion and Manny took the fight on a 2 week notice. This was his first fight on HBO and his US debut.

Manny was like an 8-1 underdog and on top of that Ledwaba hadn't lost a fight in 7 years before Manny.

I know all that, Pac is a great fighter for beating him, but you said Ledwaba was the best at 122 when he wasn't.

I thought paulie ayala was the ring title holder at 122 when ledwaba, larios, pacquaio were around.

          Anyway best wins are

          1) de la hoya beat dlh who chose weight class, ring, and gloves
          2) genaro Hernandez won lineal title at 21 against a very good fighter 18 pro fight
3)Corrales undefeated was underdog and both p4p top ten
4)castillo 2 proved he was the best lightweight
5)hatton, undefeated two weight titlist, beautiful kd and exciting fight

The Ring had Paulie Ayala and Bones Adams ahead of Ledwaba in 2001 when Pac fought him. But what i like about boxing monthly is they have the exact month and year rankings. Pac fought Ledwaba in June,23 2001.

Here is the June 2001 122lb rankings

                1: Bones Adams, 41-3-3, WBA

                2: Willie Jorrin, 28-0, WBC

                3: Michael Brodie (Britain), 30-1

                4: Lehlohonolo Ledwaba (S. Africa), 33-1-1, IBF

                5: Oscar Larios (Mexico), 40-3-1

                6: Danny Romero, 41-3-1

                7: Manny Pacquiao (Philippines), 32-2

8: Carlos Contreras (Mexico), 17-5-2, WBU

                9: Israel Vazquez (Mexico), 30-2

                10: Enrique Sanchez* (Mexico), 28-1-2
