Comments Thread For: Cotto Has No Issue With Roach's Prediction of KO in Four

Former three division world champion Miguel Cotto (38-4, 31KOs) has no issue with the recent fight prediction from his coach, Hall of Fame trainer Freddie Roach, who said the Puerto Rican superstar will stop WBC middleweight king Sergio Martinez (51-2-2, 28KOs) in four rounds. The fight takes place this coming Saturday night at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

I believe cotto breaks him down and stops him late in the fight!!! I wont go overboard like user GOLOVKIN, hes a bit hardcore for me, and i've been watching boxing for 22 years.

This entire fight depends on Martinez's health IMO. A think a healthy Martiniez is bigger and also better than Cotto in almost every area. I love Cotto but I don't consider him a favorite.

Like many have said, a healthy Sergio is the key here. If he comes in fit and healthy, which it seems he is, then Cotto will have a rough ride ahead of him. I like both fighters, but geez, it's Cotto's 1st ever MW fight isn't it? How is he going to deal with all that Sergio movement and fast hands? He'll run outta steam if he makes it to the later rounds. And there's where Sergio probably takes full advantage and drops him.

A lot of people believe Cotto have nothing for Sergio and that this fight is a mismatch. Well I understand why people feel that way, Martinez is stronger, bigger, etc.. But what I havent seem is people talking about the fact the Sergio have never fought a fighter who can really box, regardless of who stronger he just have never fought somebody that can box, somebody that can confuse him make him miss and get hit. Cotto will do that, the question is can he do it for 12 rounds without getting hit hard by Sergio? My answer is yes he will. Cotto will win in two judges card.

if martinez is healthy lights out for cotto....Cotto cant fight a full 12 rounds like martinez can.....if sergio has leg problems or breaks his left hand....then cotto could could get a tko from a body shot

You gotta love NSB and the convenient excuse "the key is if Segio comes in healthy at 100%". They must of forgotten the very own wars Cotto went through before this fight he's had a longer career.
