I thought the tide had turned the 2 rounds prior, and that KO was gonna come sooner or later. Froch did enough body work to make Groves lower his hands just enough to land a bomb sooner or later.

I think we can all agree, Froch got lucky and was losing that fight.

Groves has fought no one and was made look world class by an overrated Carl Froch.
I think he should retire.

That wasn't luck, that was a beautiful execution of a specific game plan.

Solid effort from Froch. And a much deserved win.
The interesting thing is that Froch had just taken a hard clean hook from Groves to move forward and land that shot.
Groves messed up and kept trying to time the left hook when that's not his thing. I think he should have stuck with the jab and right hand.

he was losing on points but he was winning the fight. groves was wearing down and even though he was doing well scoring wise in the 7th and 8th rounds froch was controlling the pace and making it his kind of fight.
like carl said going in, groves cant do 12 rounds with him. lots of fighters could beat froch in a 6 round fight, its being able to maintain it thats the tricky part. if they fought 100 times groves might get stopped while up on points every time, nothing lucky about it.

Totally agreed I was saying that during the fight, I simply wish he stuck to trying to land his right hand it looked alot more plausible albeit Groves did land some lefts but it was clear after a few rounds his left didn't have as much venom as he thought.
He done pretty good though before being KTFO.

Groves was up and abandoned his game plan. He didn't set the right up enough off of the jab. Move to your right, double jab and shoot the right straight down the middle. Froch has bad balance and can't land the jab when you move laterally.
