golovkin has a far superior jab to both fighters. it's one of the hardest and most effective jabs in the sport.

i'd shade groves in speed of hand and foot, but his timing on both offense and defense is not on golovkin's level. he's also got a hard time determining when he's in range / danger, and golovkin has clearly mastered that in the gym and amateurs.
    Agreed.

Who's got the better jab, GGG or your boy?

        i wasn't aware that i had a son

if you're talking about andre ward, i'd pick him to beat golovkin on points, but not necessarily because he outjabbed him. ward's got an active left hand when he's orthodox. he gets just as much out of using it to parry, push a man's head down or to the side, as some guys get out of an actual jab. that's one of the ways he wins the rounds, and i think it's work with his lead hand in that tradition that would be effective against golovkin. when he got close he'd use the hook on the way in and clinch.

golovkin's got the more damaging jab. i'd call it the more "effective jab." he uses it to get guys on the ropes, and to set up right hands. it also beats people up. ward's doesn't do that, it's more of a tool.

short story: golovkin has a better jab, one of the best in the game.

The truth is at 160-168 I would only pick Ward to beat Golovkin

he's clearly a hell of a talent, and a highly skilled boxer. he has serious power. you're an idiot if you don't think he can punch. what truly makes him a threat is the administration of his power. he has great timing. he's a technician. he has a great jab. his balance is terrific. ask any pundit or trainer, and they will tell you these things. they've been saying all of this since golovkin turned pro.

if you can jab a guy to the ropes, have a technical offense when he gets there, a good enough chin to take anything that hits you, and enough power to knock a guy out, you're an almost impossible task.

the MW or even SMW that beats golovkin isn't going to back him up. he's going to use his movement, and pick spots to do enough to win rounds. froch doesn't have the legs for that.

he'd end up in a gunfight, and then he'd end up on his back.
As always, NE knows his shit.

Froch too big for him, too strong and too tough.

I'd hate this fight as I like them both but I've always favored Golovkin in this one and still do.

Golovkin would have to outlast Froch because his defence is almost non-existent and he doesn't have much of an inside game either. They'd be trading bombs from the off. Golovkin is a better offensive boxer than Froch, but considering the fact that he's stepping up in weight it would be a massive test of both his chin and resilience. If he knocked Froch out no middleweight would ever fight him again.

Yeah I also think GGG's jab is more effective. Ward's jab looks more spectacular though because he jabs guys to the forehead/eyes and snaps their heads back, thanks to his timing. Looks good for the crowd and the judges. GGG jabs you right on the chin, it's a true power shot.
