Wembley Stadium, London - There was no controversy this time around. Last November, Carl Froch retained his IBF/WBA "regular" titles with a controversial ninth round stoppage of George Groves when referee Howard Foster jumped in too soon to wave things off.
This around, before 80,000 fans, Froch landed a vicious right hand in the eight round that put Groves down and out. As referee Charlie Fitch looked down on Groves, the the 26-year-old slugger was motionless, his eyes were closed and his left legged was folded under his body. Fitch quickly waved off the fight to protect the health of Groves.
