Sucks that the Ref watered down an impressive performance a little bit with his **** stoppage.

This is boxing, let the man get Knocked Out

Why ruin a possible great ending, i dont get it. Degale didnt even land a punch when he stopped it

There's a good reason to stop a fight early than too late.

That was a early stoppage. So early in the fight, ref should have let it go on.

Horribly annoying as a British fan. Gonzales had his gloves up, would probably have been knocked out, but the ref should have let them work it out, ffs. I hope that the fans around the world don't think that UK fans are behind these ridiculous stoppages, because we're not.

And almost as bad is the idea of DeGale 'representing' the UK. That celebration made me want to cut his balls off Gus Fring-style; no matter how well he fought tonight, he's just the most dislikeable guy.

Degale looked sharp but that was a bad stoppage.

Degale was well on his way to a genuine stoppage. Ref ruined it.

It was nice watching another inflated unbeaten record get exposed. Gonzales is a slow, plodding, one-dimensional, one trick pony that did nothing to deserve the chance at a shot.

Of course, but in an important fight like a world title eliminator, you tend to give the fighter's that little bit extra benefit of the doubt. Regardless, fights should be stopped when one fighter can no longer defend himself or is taking sustained punishment. That wasn't the case here. You certainly don't stop the fight when the guy has his hands up and the last two punches thrown at him both missed.
