Comments Thread For: DeGale With Premature Stoppage of Gonzales in Four

In a final IBF super middleweight eliminator, Olympic gold medal winner James DeGale (19-1, 13KOs) picked up a premature four round stoppage of previously undefeated Brandon Gonzales (18-1-1, 10KOs).

DeGale started off fast and was landing good punches. Gonzales came back in the second with hard shots to the body. The third was even, but DeGale exploded in the fourth. He landed a fury of shots to send Gonzales down. Gonzales was back on his feet, trying to survive the round while DeGale was trying to finish. The referee jumped in and waved off the fight as Gonzales jumped back from a DeGale combination.

it was premature but nothing like groves/froch 1

gonzalez was getting ****ing rocked, the ref even gave him extra time after the knock down, he motioned to Gonzalez to come to him 2-3 times which added a few seconds to the 10 count

If I were a fighter and i werent british I wouldnt come to the uk for any amount of money. This is happening too often now. If it was the other way around is degale was hurt they never would have stopped it. Its disgraceful.

Gonzalez didn't belong in there with DeGale to begin with. He looked mediocre against Oosthuizen and hasn't fought anything else with a heartbeat.
