I looked him up on boxrec and I saw nothing that would indicate he would rule the heavyweights during his prime years if he had stayed out of trouble. He won 20 fights with no loses and 15 KOs. He only fought two top heavyweights and they were Tua who he beat by close ud. and Byrd who he KOed in 5 rounds. Those are the only wins he had that mean anything and that hardly makes him a sure thing for the heavyweight world title.

strong,,,durable with amazing stamina but only average hand and foot speed and never dealt with a good long jab in his face so its hard to say imo

omg,,youve got to be kidding me I hope. ike was strong and had potential but him going life and death with david tua hardly makes him more devastating than tyson who was much quicker and more elusive than tua

its as if the universe/nature doesnt allow one fighter to ever have it ALL

a fighter can have almost everything, but the law of nature always keeps him from having it all. if a boxer has speed, power and skills, he might have a glass jaw. if he has an iron chin, speed, skills, he might have pillow punching power.

no 1 single fighter has EVERY attribute. but ike was one of those guys who may have slipped through the cracks. he seemingly had EVERY attribute. but then again, maybe it was his mind which was his flaw. so in the end the universe balanced itself out as usual.

gerald mclellan was another boxer who seemed to have it all. skills, ATG power, and an iron chin. the universe always finds a way to balance itself out though as we all know how he ended up...
