I figure after Golovkin wins this fight, he'll be elevated to WBA Middleweight "Super" Champion and allow Fletcher to fight for the "Regular" WBA Middleweight Championship. I'm surprised that Golovkin isn't already elevated to "Super" Champion status.

good stuff Geale is one of the best middleweights in the world. Doesn't change the fact that GGG will destroy him though

        Fantastic news!

Another great name to add to GGG resume, gold medalist vs gold medalist well atleast I think Geale won a gold?

I think we all see this fight turning out the one way, Geale will really need to back pedal hard in this one but even at that I just don't think it will work...
I'll say we will see a TKO round 6.

Golovkin won silver at the Olympics 2004, though does have a World Championship Gold from 2003. Geale (as a Welter) went out in the first round in 2000, but did win Gold at the 2002 commonwealth games (the games between the countries of the former British Empire for those who are wondering what the hell those are).

Still, an undeniably good fight - Geale is certainly a top 3 or 4 MW (perhaps 5 if you have a real soft spot for Quillin). Nonetheless, as with Matt Macklin, I just don't see a way for Geale to win this... though I do see him putting up a decent fight. Mid to late TKO for Golovkin.

The only way Fletcher could have won it was if he fought Chudinov...but Nielsen will be #1 after this and he's SOL.

Don't know why he was mandated either when the WBA said he'd fight the winner of the interim fight

He clearly wants to be the next Gregorsz Proska, stepping up way too soon.

He got a good win against Bursak... but that was a really close fight and I thought he was hurt several times. Still wish he fought Murray instead. Could still happen if Murray is still serious about a fight
