This thread is not accurate.. Stephen Espinoza of Showtime said it is very possible that the winner of the Cotto/Martinez fight could end up fighting Floyd. And when specifically asked about Martinez, he said he is very interested in showcasing a fight between Floyd and Sergio in the future on Showtime.

Like all the other guys that he eventually fights .... TOO LATE! Should have happened years ago not in 2015-2106

i think floyd vs martinez could sell at least as much as maidana or guerrero. But i rememeber right before martinez vs williams 2 floyd said he would probably fight the winner.... brutal KO... floyd never mentions martinez name again. And the fight could have been at 154 easily, he fought three times at that weight before and besides canelo is probably just as big naturally as martinez, maybe even bigger, only thing is canelo is younger so its easier for him to drain the pounds

No point unless Serg is willing to drop down. And I mean actually do it and not just talk about it. Two years ago 154 was on fire with Canelo, Cotto, Trout (before being exposed), and Floyd. But he chose to fight a few English bums and hold on to his 160 pound title. No harm in that but he missed out on some good fights.
