Cotto's 2 biggest losses are both asterisk worthy. *

You understand that it was Dela Hoya who dictated the weight right? Pacquiao didn't "let him" do anything because he wasn't calling the shots for that fight.I'm a Cotto fan through thick and thin, but the thread starter painted a huge bullseye on your back.
Personally, I'm indifferent about it. Some people want to say Margarito cheated, others say he didn't, others feel choose to not say anything because evidence is circumstantial...I don't blame either side.
As far as the Pacquiao fight, I give him credit for the win, but always bothered me about that fight was how he made Cotto come down 2 pounds under the 147 weight limit. He let Oscar a year earlier come in at 147, and let Clottey shortly after the Cotto fight come in at 147. They knew there was a slight advantage to be gained, and why not take it? Pac's success blew up with the Oscar win, then he became bigger after the Hatton KO. That little detail always bothered me, but hey...had it been at a full 147, Cotto might've looked a tad better, but Pacquiao would've still won, so he gets full credit regardless.
I thought the scores were a little too wide in the Mayweather/Trout fights but I have to watch them again...Cotto lost those fights clearly, though.
I guess the only one you could put an asterisk (if you wanted to) on would be Margarito.
A lot of people say Margarito looked like crap or that his power "disappeared" after they took the wraps, but that's simplistic. He never touched Mosley when he fought, got beat up by Pacquiao BUT...Pacquiao didn't leave that fight unscathed, and the Cotto rematch? Cotto clearly won (and I'm almost positive he would've walked away with a UD had it gone a full 12), but Cotto's face was scuffed up.
.....
But then again, that Sebastian Lujan fight was a really strange injury.
I don't know what to make of Margarito, honestly. I go back and forth.Comment

Mannys cleaning up the sport with VADA testing doe
Don't worry your boy Swift will get twatted when he steps up to 147. Keys to beating Danny Garcia: keep your right hand up to block his wide left hook, have a good jab, make sure the fight isn't in PR

Let's be sincere here, Marquez was a lightweight moving up two divisions to face Floyd. Floyd still chose to cheat Marquez on the scales and if we're being realistic that fight deserves an asterisk. Of course tards will disagree and say skills pay the bills but let's be rational Marquez was at a clear disadvantage.Comment

You gotta be the biggest hypocrite on this website (and that's saying something). 80% of your comments are about how Matthysse fans come up with excuses and then you come and post **** about Cotto's losses having an asterisk and then blatantly COME UP WITH AN EXCUSE about Danny looking bad (should have lost) because he took a fight lightly.Comment

You seriously think Herrera is levels above Khan or Morales in terms of skill??
Garcia had an off night.
Now, how do you equate dudes coming into the ring on peds or with plaster with the excuses Matthysse fans are making? " His eye doe"
Stop trying to act confused. You know damn well it is not the same thing. Cheating and having your eye shut are not the same thing son.
Is there a rule against having your eye shut the fck down? NO.
Are there rules with regard to hand wraps and PEDS? Clearly.
Educate yourself before you come here trying to be a thread hero.
Back to Herrera...Not the first time a champ does not get motivated for a guy like Herrera. It is what it is and the truth is, it was no shut out. It was a sloppy fight that really could have gone either way.Last edited by EXPOSEDheroes; 05-28-2014, 09:44 PM.Comment

Prime Morales or bloated, faded, paper champion who hadn't won against a real opponent in years and was fighting 2 divisions above where he should be and still missed weight Morales who fought Garcia? Yea I think Herrera is better than him.You seriously think Herrera is levels above Khan or Morales in terms of skill??

As far as the illegal garbage your giving me, it's all speculation. The same as when Pacquiao fans say Marquez juiced for their 4th fight. It's a bull**** excuse.
It doesn't matter if you speculate a guy had an off night or wasn't motivated, that's still an excuse. If Khan or Matthysse fans came in here after their losses and said the same stuff you do, you know you would hound them like you always do. You give the same garbage excuses as all the fans you are constantly criticizing.Comment
