I see it going one of two ways. Either Stevenson puts him down early in the first 4-5 rounds or he's screwed. If Fonfara (a much lesser fighter than Kovalev) was able to give Stevenson a scare in the 9th imagine what Kovalev would do. I still think it's a 50/50 fight.

Everyone can have a hard fight and Adonis set himself up for this fall with him criticizing Kovalevs last win...
I'm starting to like Adonis regardless of what people think he is entertaining in the ring and that's the likable part plus he does know how to hype/sell a fight just needs to maybe need to think some things through before saying it because now Kovalevs win looks good in comparison.

50/50 so long as we see Adonis trying to keep Kovalev off at range.

Really, both guys are tailor made for each other. It's only a question of whose power is too much for the other guy. I'd favor Kovalev's two fists over Stevenson's one, but it could easily go the other way.

Do you think anyone would be sad if Kovalev killed Stevenson in the ring?

Within mere seconds of Jimmy Lennon Jr. declaring him "winner and still" WBC light heavyweight champion on Saturday night in Montreal, some people couldn't step over each other fast enough to brand Adonis Stevenson with the perfect go-to "O" word – Overrated.

Never mind that nearly each one of these very same folks had been swept up in the “Superman” sentiment heading into the scheduled 12-rounder. Back then, they breathlessly said, nary a 175-pounder alive had the kryptonite to blunt such a man of Haitian-honed steel.

They’d seen him vaporize Chad Dawson in less than a round, bludgeon Tavoris Cloud and Tony Bellew into mid-round submissions and score two knockdowns in the first five rounds at the Bell Centre, after all – more than enough evidence for a still-active Canastota enshrinement.

But alas, when their would-be superhero stumbled, bled and, gasp... even fell down en route to a wide – and, by the way, correct – verdict over No. 3-ranked Andrzej Fonfara, the speeding bullet reaction was obvious: Stevenson was a shoddy facsimile and everything they'd said before… well, never mind.

Two hours before the fight, the idea of putting Bernard Hopkins in the same ring with Stevenson had been tantamount to premeditated homicide. But after 36 minutes with a foe 23 years younger, an inch taller and light years more active than “The Alien,” the champion was deemed imposter non grata and the future forecast was clear – a 49-year-old without a KO in a decade was the Lexxest of Luthors. I am not surprised. Boxing fans who talk the most, especially the ones on this message board, are very fickle. Before he fought Danny Garcia, Lucas Matthysse was a combination of Roberto Duran and Marvin Hagler and would destroy Mayweather, according to the experts on this site. After Garcia defeated him (which I predicted) he was an overrated nobody. Stevenson had a decent challenge and now the fickesperts claim he is overrated.

I always said the jury was still out on him based on his career performances and I still say the jury is out on him. How he performs against Hopkins and hopefully Kovalev and Andre Ward will tell me whether he is truly a great fighter or just another Antonio Tarver who is living off his performance in one fight.

My personal opinion is that he is good. He would definitely beat Kovalev; might beat a 50 year-old Hokins, but would not beat a 40 year-old Hopkins; and he would get taken to school for 12 rounds and possibly KO'd by Ward.

He has nothing for Kovalev and if he beats Hopkins it will just mean Hopkins' age has finally caught up with him. Fonfara fought like a robot and was still catching Stevenson with almost half of his power punches. Put on your tie dye shirts and form a friendship circle and mark me down as a "h8r".

That may be the case, but boxing is boxing and business is business. No one was dwelled over how much Ali made in a fight. No one dwelled over how much Tyson made in a fight. No one dwelled over Sugar Ray's earnings. No one dwelled over how much Hagler vs Hearns generated or how many watched. All that they dwelled over was who was the best boxer. What a boxer earns is all in the details. A real warrior and a real champion wants to take out all candidates to his throne and to his claim. Adonis is not a champion. He is not a warrior. He ran and hides behind the mask of a green belt and business manager. He doesn't have the heart. He began to stutter at the sounds of Kovalev's name in the ring post-fight. As a boxer and fan, I could care less what a person makes. All I want to see his who is better. The money will come regardless. But you're in boxing because you want to reign supreme. The moment you feel like it's income, then get out. It's not for you anymore. You fight because you have that gene. You have that characteristic in you that needs to. Because who you are. If you're trying to score bucks and that's in your lone goal, you're not a champion and you're not a warrior. And inevitably, you will get exposed. I like hearing boxers saying, you know what if I lose I lose. But **** it lets fight. Lets see who's bad. Thats a friggin warrior!!!!

What are the obvious reasons? Look boxing genius why is it solid boxing fans call it as it is and myopic clowns like you want to call us haters? Stevenson has huge holes in his game. Kovalev's fundamentals are much better. Plus he is a real hitter with both hands, not a one armed, no cardio, slow mover with balance problems. GGG would whup Stevenson's ass too. Get over your hood loyalty and be an informed fight fan. B Hop beats Stevenson and avoids Kovalev or dies at 50 in the ring.
