It's the constant holding and lack of knock outs

He didn't hold against Froch or Dawson, and Rodriguez was just as responsible for how ugly that fight was early as Ward. After the 4th or so Ward didn't hold much and looked great.

He's a talented fighter no doubt. I don't look forward to watching him fight though.

after the prince blinded him with a forehead to the dome, kessler "agreed" to every ward clinch himself, and initiated or partially initiated the rest.

While Ward's hugging can be ugly and hard to watch, and certainly was against Green and Bika, Ward doesn't clinch just to clinch the way Khan did against Collazo or Wlad did against Povetkin. Most the time Ward is using the clinch to muscle fighters around and land. He almost always fights in the clinch.

It's not his fault fighters today can't handle a rough inside game.

He is a bit of a whiner but that doesn't take away from his boxing skills, which he has in spades.
His power is definitely his most underrated aspect

he has a very hard left hook, and has gotten the respect of virtually everybody he's fought with it. his right hand is a baby punch.

kessler, froch, abraham, are ridiculously durable guys. edwin rodriguez is likewise a super durable guy, with a good chin and who is very large. they all respected the hook.

The clinching is a turn off. Wards does things in the ring that most can't do. Even when he switches he doesn't lose anything. Extremely high boxing IQ

His power comes from his punches being accurate, fast and sneaky.
He is not heavy handed by any standard.. But good punching will make up for that.
