Comments Thread For: Andrzej Fonfara's Promoter Sees Big Things Ahead

Leon Margules of Warriors Boxing, who promotes Polish light heavyweight contender Andrzej Fonfara (25-3, 15 KOs), sees big things ahead for his boxer. On Saturday night at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Fonfara was dropped twice before coming back to score a knockdown of his own in the ninth round of his world title fight with WBC champion Adonis Stevenson (24-1, 20 KO). Fonfara rallied in the later rounds, but came up short as Stevenson won a convincing twelve round unanimous decision.

Kov/Fonfara was the fight I wanted to happen, and hopefully it still does. Adonis was able to hurt him, but he couldn't finish him. I don't think Kov would have the same problem.

We were so close to that instead of Agnew, but he got poached.

IMO, it'll be brutal. Fonfara on his best Coming forward, Kovalev just a beast on the offense.

I don't know if his team should go straight for another title shot or try to rebuild.

Up to them. A lot of fighters always told me no fighter would ever turn down a title shot, but let's see what the 26 year old and his team does

I could see him being offered a Kov fight in December or early January. A Kov fight is a great way to start or end a year off.
