I don't really see it as being influential or significant to anyones lives, unless something more comes of it, it will be forgotten very quickly. Its nothing for me to condone or condemn, so far its only been a minor incident. I don't really see what Floyd did wrong in the situation tbh, I need you to explain that...
Actually your concept of role models in the black community is what's really narrow minded. At what point did it become the responsibility of boxers and rappers to combat the issues of an entire demographic, they are entertainers. Celebrities of any other race are not held up to the same standard. Also notice how you go on about hip hop as a negative force, what about the glorification of drug use in other music, funny how you don't mention Johnny Cash who basically had the same subject matter of a gangster rapper.
You wouldn't have made any of these comments if they weren't black ,you wouldn't make any of these not-so-subtle comments about classiness, urban, youth etc if they were white or Hispanic.
Also the idea of public figures like entertainers is a bit ****** to begin with in the first place. These are people like you and me who aren't perfect and their purpose isn't to be a saint for their fans. Most of the people who are 'role models' do negative things whether they are public or not doesn't make them any better or worse. Lots of people considered Leonard a great role model until they found out he was a coke sniffing wife beater. Heavily sourcing your influence from someone you don't know personally and is only known to you from entertainment is a problem in the first place, not a solution.
