But Cotto wanted none of Paul Williams when he called Cotto out. Fought Michael Jennings for his vacant strap. Martinez is bigger, faster, stronger and can adjust better in the middle of a fight to win. Cotto gets discouraged when he can't be effective. Roach can only teach Cotto how to be offensive. Roach is not a defensive trainer and that's what Cotto needs. Martinez is going to put Cotto's lights out. I would be very surprised if he didn't.

I honestly think Chavez Jr ruined Martinez. He destroyed Martinez's hands, legs and chin, all without trowing a punch well maybe one punch.

          Gonna be a good fight.

Is Cotto really an a55hole like everyone says? In his interviews he seems a decent fellow. If he weren't I'd be hoping Serg. whoops him but I've never heard him trash anyone I'm aware of. Anyone else?
Gonna be a great fight, curious to see Roach's influence on Miguel seeing as Roach is very very offensive minded trainer...

Actually, if you go back and look, Margacheato didnt start blasting guys out until after he lost that P-WILL fight. High volume, average pressure fighter... after that P-Will loss he knew he would become irrelevant w/ another loss.

Clearly they're aiming for Martinez's body. The accumulation will weaken his physicality.

If you knew anything about boxing history you would know that there was no time where Cotto and p wills paths crossed. I laid the entire history in a forum on here about a year ago and it is to lengthy to do again. However your assessment is incorrect. Paul Williams was chasing margaritto through the division, merely calling Cotto out means nothing. By your logic, Cotto has been ducking Anthony mundine for years cause Mundine till this day still calls Cotto out.

Cotto been an offensive fighter since day one, teaching him defense at this point in his career is a waste as any fighter would revert back to their original form. Making his offense better is far more fruitful.

I've been watching Martinez fight for years and I have never not once seen him adjust. Martinez fights one way and he continues fighting that way from opening to closing bell.

Would be a great fight but Martinez ultimately is too skilled.

I respectfully disagree. Martinez is without a doubt the more athletic fighter but more skilled? An argument can be made that Cotto is the more skilled fighter. As we seen from boxing more skillz does not always equate to a win, as most famously seen in Ali-Frasier 1.
