These "I'm moving up but not really moving up and you have to fight 0.0003 pounds below the division limit then I move back down in weight" fights are silly. Sergio himself is a small MW and dwarfs Cotto.

Pavlik has power, but what good is it when you can't land? Cotto is a way better boxer than Pavlik ever been. Cotto will tag him repeatedly and force him to quit in the late rounds

Martinez fades too.... That's being ignored greatly by everyone during the build up to this fight.

As for the power, he has enough to make Sergio respect him and to beat him for his titles.

My wife's best friend is Mexican and her husband said he had a dream Canelo beat Cotto for the middleweight title. He says they will fight after they each take care of Sergio and Erislandy. Let's see, it could go the opposite way.

As for Cotto carrying power to mw, I think he will. I think It's enough to hurt Sergio. I'm not worried about Cotto not being able to hurt Martinez.

Yeah but cotto is light years better in boxing than pavlik and Chavez jr..

Cotto has really underrated boxing skills, and while I don think he will win, I think he does better than Chavez and pavlik

People forget Martinez campaigned at 154 but was giving the chance to fight for the title at 160 that's why he moved up. He is possibly the smallest middle weight lenial champ ever. Only advantage he really has over cotto is the experience of fighting at that weight, but that should be no prob for cotto as he's been in the ring with the best. Martinez and his fans will be SHOCKED when they see cotto wearing Martinez down and eventually KO him in the late rounds. Cotto had underrated boxing skills, plus devastating power. I could argue that cotto is the best boxer Martinez has faced and the most powerful. Add that work roach and his ability to come up with a winning game plan= long night for Martinez
Martinez is still a lot bigger than Cotto. Cotto is a former lightwelter, Martinez is a former lightmiddle.

Martinez fades late? So how come he usually adjusts late in his fights and either dominates or gets the KO? Cotto is in over his head.
