Petr looked awesome in winning the Boxcino final. The way he was mixing up his attack, throwing 10-12 punch combinations, turning and confusing Carcamo, was very impressive. However, not to take anything away from Petrov's performance, but his opponent just wasn't right last night. Perhaps it was as Teddy said, that Carcamo was drained. (It was a terrible decision by Joel Diaz to send his fighter out for "one more round." The kid had nothing coming into the fight, and he had even less by the end.) Whatever the case, Petr may as well have been working the heavy bag. Great work.

Yeah, Carcamo was drained. Did you see the weighin pics? Was kind of disgusting to look at. Looked like a holocaust victim. Near perfect performance by Petrov. Now Carcamo needs to move up in weight, and his punch should have less affect. Diaz' judgement needs to be seriously questioned for sending his fighter back out - that fight looked like a brain injury served up on a buffet platter. I can't believe Diaz sent him out like that.... absolute disgrace to the sport.

Agreed with the sending out by Diaz. The man had nothing left, you could tell. And similar to Alvarado-Prov.... when they were saying they were gonna stop it he kept quiet and didn't say anything..... so stop it!!!! These guys are warriors, they're not gonna say "I quit." Diaz should of known better then that, he had no business going back out there as a human punching bag.


With that said, Carcamo showed a lot of heart and did not look proper, so I believe ESPN will probably bring him back in the future.


As for Petrov, he put together a near perfect performance, brilliant stuff in there. He is a very smart fighter, and his trainer prepared him well for last night.

Lara Canelo should look something like this. Lara will move and Canelo will turn with him, cut him off, or get beat. Odd, but Canelo has weight issues like Carcamo. It will be something like this fight, Canelo is the question. Can he move with, or stop Lara's movement?
