Eubank Sr: I see my son beating Golovkin

Just came across this and thought it rather amusing:

Eubank Sr: "At middleweight and super-middleweight, them all, I've looked at them... Gennady Golovkin, he beats him now.

"I've seen nothing like this. We are talking about the real thing personified. This is Chris Eubank new and improved.

"In him I see Duran, Roy Jones Jnr; in terms of his footspeed, handspeed and combination punching; and I see the darkness of James Toney. I wouldn't know how to beat him in my prime.

"He's 15 fights unbeaten and he he has the ability to beat me right now when I was in my prime. He's frightening."

Froch had been singing his praises in recent sparring, but triple G? Really?

Why wait then get on the phone to HBO, golovkin needs an opponent and if the Eubanks are willing to talk the talk they should walk the walk.

It's a case of how Eubank Jr is looking against below-par domestic opposition and Golovkin at the highest level. One looks untouchable and the other is considered crude.

He'd do well to fight the other British middleweights coming through tbh, there is a lot of talent in that mix.

A very bold statement, very bold. Eubank Jr is yet to look world class even at British/European level and capture fans imagination, many either dont care or dont like him (put off by attitude etc)...GGG is world level and visibly impressing.

With all due respect to Chris Eubank and the fact he is talking about his son, this is very premature talk.

He sounds like Joe Frazier when he was hyping up his son Marvis Frazier.

                Before Tyson and Holmes

i tend to watch a fair amount of the british cards but i think i've only seen eubank jr a couple times against over-matched opponents. is he worth checking out? i generally wait until fighters get in with someone i've heard of before i get interested in them

it's a bold statement (regarding GGG). ive never heard of any of the guys he's fought. would he even beat rosado or stevens?

plenty of domestic fights to test his mettle in murray, macklin, and saunders. murray and macklin might be a bit much at this point. saunders would be nice to see though. both guys are unproven on the world-level. let em fight it out for a crack at the next level.
