This Juan Diaz kid is pure hype, ugly as **** and nothing more, I give him credit for he seems to be someone w/ alot of discipline being a " college student " and a pro - fighter all at the same time. I would be more surprise if they actually put him in w/ someone that has a heartbeat, but I don't think it's gonna happen AT ALL in anytime, the kid is a local favorite and tons of people show up for his matches against inbreds and drunk farmers so why mess w/ something that works. In a way I don't think I wanna see this kid get thrown in w/ real pro fighters 'cause he'll get laid out in the worse way, his cerebrum might end up like Mesi's. What seperates Juan Diaz from the rest of us who have had some boxing experience is his dedication and deep passion for the sport. He's nothing special talent wise. I'd love to see Julio Diaz get more exposure though, now that's one hell of a fighter.

        Shame on you guys

Wow..I'm absolutely shocked at some of the posts on this thread...First let me just say that the Elder family
is a very spiritual, warm and devoted family that devote countless hours to church and community.Ebo takes
the time to go to area hospitals to visit with sick kids.He has the hart of a champion and conducts himself
like a champion should outside the ring. He's worked very hard in 04 to get where he's at.Ranked 4th by the
WBC is quite an acievement.I don't know if anybody on this thread has even boxed before but to be ranked that
high is something we can only dream of.As for Juan Diaz he's the WBA champion of the WORLD! no matter what anybody
here thinks of his talent.I look forward to the Elder-Diaz match-up.It's going too be a great nite for boxing...You know, let me just say one more thing here guy's, there is a lot of young people that use the internet to read about their heros...Remember when great hard working athletes were our Heros?

He could easily cut 5 pounds and fight at 130 and probably start knocking guys cold, plus the bigger money is there too, this is a golden opportunity-rarely do you get too move down and fight for much bigger money!

Diaz could fight Morales, Pac, MAB, Anchondo, Famouso...etc and probably have an edge because of his size...plus a fight with Morales would be a payperview fight....maybe the only payperview opportunity of his life-and all he needs to do is lose five pounds...

What do peopele think...do diaz's people need to wake up and smell the money, not too mention protect there fighter from serious injury...it's an all in one deal, money-safety or less money and death...what do you guys/gals think?
When are people gonna learn. If you went out on the street, would 5 pounds keep you from knockin people out? No it wouldnt. It comes down to skill;, heart,& stamina. If diaz cant knock out a 135 pounder, how will he knock out a 130 pound morales, MAB, pac, any of them. They been through wars with people who hit a lot harder than him

In a street fight 5 pounds does not mean **** but in a championship prizefight those 5 pounds can make all of the difference in the world.

5 little bitty pounds is the difference between taking a left hook from Corrales and having your face caved in or taking a left hook from Marco Antonio Barerra and thinking you are in a pillow fight.

Plus with Morales and MAB you get to fight on PPV and mkae serious money...fighting Castillo or Chico lands you on HBO and you make a fraction of the purse.

            5 pounds doesn't mean **** huh...hmmm

Juan should be fighting at 130

at 135 he has too much wiggle room and he uses it.. he straight fat.

So all of you would rather see Juan Diaz fight Diego or JL for 150K on HBO and get his face caved in as opposed to going after a payperview fight worth a cool million vs. Morales...hmmm
                .
I dont like protected fighters, the more weight the better, why strave yourself just to be a champion? The best fighters pack on weight, not lose it.

What do you think of your boy Cotto? Does he starve himself? I guess you could say he packs on weight right? Where does Cotto fit in these words you speak?

Cotto is a guy that starves hismelf, cuts his weight as low as possible and when he steps in the ring he is twice the size of his opponents. Manny Steward siad that his frequent schedule allows him this luxury but it wont last long.

Iwatch, by your own logic how does Cotto fit here?

I think there is a difference between starving yourself to make weight, and just toning yourself down to a point where you are solid. Juan Diaz has some bodyfat, and he could stand to lose 5 lbs. at least. IMO that wouldn't be cheating, just fighting at his natural "in shape" weight.
