If Schafer leaves, Oscar will find someone else to run the company because he is not smart enough to do it on his own.
Schaefer didn't make Golden Boy what it is today. Oscar De La Hoya's $30 million PPVs and his popularity with the LAtino market made it what it is today. Without all that money Oscar's fights made after HE left Arum, there wouldn't have been any money to sign top fighters and they never would've been able to make deals with Floyd Mayweather.

That Swiss banker had nothing in common with the Latino community Nothing.

Oscar MADE that company. His image. His name. His millions. His reputation in the sport. Hopkins, Mosley, Hatton ... they all signed on because of Oscar. Top fighters promoting their own bouts and keeping more money for themselves.

Not because they had a lot in common with a Swiss banker.

All the money Oscar generated could cover up a lot of mistakes Schaefer made signing guys. Schaefer doesn't sign young amateurs and "create" stars. He's spent his whole reign at Golden Boy signing fighters who someone else made stars before he got a hold of them.

It's easy to look successful when someone else gives you tens of millions to work with and you just poach other top fighters by overpaying them.

Even with all that money, how many superstars has Schaefer discovered on his own?

Oscar knows that Schaefer has him by the balls - which is why Schaefer hasn't been fired. The crack smoking cross dresser may be the face of GBP _but_ Schaefer is the oil that allows the cogs to turn.

I remember reading a quote from Schaefer from around the time when the news first broke about the rift @ GBP. Schaefer goes on to talk about how he's built relationships with people in the industry and what they mean to him. If Schaefer leaves GBP - the relationships and political connections he's made over the years leave with him.

Leave with him where? HBO isn't working with him. Showtime's deal seems to be with Golden Boy, not Richard Schaefer himself?

Where is Schaefer going to get all this money to bankroll him with no network behind him?

If Oscar dumps Schaefer, looks like he can work with Top Rank at HBO and still have Showtime. And Golden Boy has a deal with Fox Sports 1.

Is Schaefer going to "ruin" Oscar by staging Friday Night Fight cards with $50,000 budgets?

Yeah I think Schafer is angling for something. Oscar would be cutting off his nose to spite his face. And all these weird articles about investors being unhappy with Schafer...sigh, too long to get into.

Showtime works just fine with Mayweather Promotions.

Yes, and Mayweather Promotions has been about as successful picking young fighters to take over as Schaefer has identifying new talent.

I don't think any young prospect Mayweather signed "hasn't" failed a drug test.

Schaefer can't relate to any fighters. He couldn't build crap on his own. He's made his name because of the huge bankroll others provided him.

                    Nobody's following him anywhere.

                      LOL.

You know who else makes a **** load of money and sells a ton of PPVs?

                      Floyd Mayweather.

So, how are things over @ TMT going?

Yes, Oscar made a ton of money and sold a bunch of PPVs - but having lots of money and selling a ton of PPVs DOES NOT MAKE A SUCCESSFUL PROMOTIONAL OUTFIT. Knowing how to run a business DOES.

Schafer has been running the business over at GBP since day ONE. And BTW, Ole' Fishnets hasn't sold a PPV since 2008. You don't build the biggest promotional outfit in boxing by cross dressing and crack smoking, Genius.
