Anything about the Schaefer/Haymon alliance yet?

This is taken from an old news article I found:

"The complaint alleges that Haymon and Golden Boy CEO Richard Schaefer have "entered into an alliance," the purpose of which "is to wrest control of Golden Boy from Oscar De La Hoya for their own financial gain.""

I think Richard Schaefer is done at Golden Boy Promotions. Something tells me that Al Haymon & Richard Schaefer will move to another promotional company, I have a feeling Iron Mike Productions or Goossen Promotions are looking to make a move. With CBS Sports Network about to start their own "Fight Night" series, I believe that Schaefer & Haymon are in the process of breaking ties with GBP.

GBP is with Fox Sports and I suspect that Al Haymon fighters are completely tied to CBS Sports & Showtime Sports exclusively while GBP looks like it wants back into the HBO Sports circle.

Al Haymon payed one of his ******** to silence him. That or the higher ups at Showtime have him locked inside of his GBP office organizing a guaranteed plan to fill the financial void that Floyd created.

If Schaefer leaves GBP he cannot be involved in any sort of boxing related business for some time.

I have read he has a "non-compete" in his contract with GBP.

No compete contract? I doubt that holds in court. You can't prevent someone from working after leaving you.

As long as we get good fights I don't care who runs what. I would hope a split would bring in more good fights with Arum and his fighters, for that alone am all for it, but to try and prevent the man from working with someone else is a no no for me.

It's called a restrictive covenant. It stops a former employee working for rivals or setting up in direct competition. It's usually only operative for a certain period of time. But, if they're claiming a non-complete contract then it's going to be difficult to rely on its terms.

Surely Schaefer knew DLH is going to find out about their plan sooner or later. I don't think he's that ******. So what do you think will happen? Is the Haymon/Schaefer alliance going to proceed with Mayweather's TMT?

Well, we'll probably find out when Thurman's/Broner's next respective fights are announced.

Laughable how people are trying to take sides in this GBP thing when we don't even know WTF is going on or if they will split
