Due to promotional problems and some bad judgemet on his part, we haven't seen the real Gamboa in 3 years, since he massacred Solis. I believe a peak Gamboa would blitz Crawford, he's just a much better fighter.

I don't expect to see that peak Gamboa though, I'm expecting a Gamboa who's a little faded, but I still think that could be enough to win as he does usually fight to the level of his competition.
When i said Lopez i meant, I meant Solis lol... but yeah performance was incredible.

I think Gamboa may be a little faded, but he has looked bad against sub par opposition before, even in his prime. I think he can really turn it on when hes fully focused. Maybe im just kidding myself because i really want him to win!

I'll be rooting for another guy that resembles a mini-Tyson tonight. If he brings any of his old persona, it's going to be an exciting bout. If he comes as the guy we saw versus Perez, he's likely to lose in a potentially dull affair.

I don't know what to expect, but the closer the fight draws, the better I feel about Yuri's chances. It seems to me some others feel the same way. I've seen a few guys who were early Crawford believers coming over to the Gamboa camp. I think the weigh-in had something to do with it. Terrance looked drained, while Yuri looked full and healthy. We'll see if it means anything in a few hours.
Loma showed some glimpses of what made him such an astonishing Amateur. I hope he continues to improve. When hes on the attack he looks Tyson-esque for sure with his hooks and uppercuts... I even saw a few glimpses of a really small, much lighter hitting, George Foreman. Maybe thats just me. I hope he and his team realise that his future in the pros is as a come forward fighter. On the back foot he will lose a lot of rounds.

Im really excited for this fight (strange seeing as boxing has been almost completely wiped off my radar for the World Cup). I hope Gamboa comes with everything. Crawford is good no doubt, but Gamboa deserves a career defining run, and it can start here

No doubt. Lomo has got to cultivate that style. He's a true student of the art; but, as you said, his future lies in moving forward. He's going to be fun to watch for some time.

I've been watching as much World Cup as time allows, so I know what you mean.

This is Gamboa's second and, probably, last chance at boxing stardom. He might've missed the boat with the Rios fiasco. And, now that he's getting a little older, it'll just get tougher. Yuri has got to give it his all. Even in the best case scenario, he might only have three years or so left as a top performer. That time goes quick.

        I know that feeling man.

I'm a Gamboa guy until the end, I'm in full hope that we see him near his best. It doesn't have to be the Gamboa of 3 years ago, I believe that even 85% of that fighter could get the job done against most.

I picked Crawford too but I would be lying if I said I'm not concerned after how he looked yesterday at the weigh in and his talks of moving up after this fight.
You know what's funny, both these fighters have similar issues.. They both seemed to get disinterested when their opponents won't engage.. Yet if their opponent is willing, it could make for great action..I really have a feeling this is going to be a good one tonight..

IMO Russell just was not ready for Loma..I felt strongly about that going into that fight.. That's saying something being Loma only had like 3 fights..

I think Gary truly believed what he was saying about Lomachenko. Russell really underestimated four hundred amateur fights and two gold medals. I don't know how you do that, but he did it.

The pro game is different from the amateurs, but that kind of accomplishment goes far. Just ask Rigo....

What's scary about Loma and Rigo is imagine how good they will be when they become fully seasoned professionals? Right now they are beating top opposition with amateur habits.

Both have tons of room for improvement.

The advantage Lomo has is he's much younger. He has more upside than Rigo. But there's no doubt, both these guys turned pro and went straight to the top. How anyone can knock their amateur accomplishments after that kind of rise is beyond me.
