I don't see Zou doing much when he steps up. I know he is key to expanding boxing in China but he has looked incredibly average and at times below average against D level Competition. Plus his age doesn't help matters. Although if he did win that could set up big all Asian Match ups against Naoya Inoue and Donnie Nietes. I am kind of pulled on who I want to win in this match up.

Zou looks to be a good fighter. Does he deserve a title shot? No. But neither did Canelo, winning a vacant title at 154 against a career 140 pounder. That's boxing.

Why are you surpised that politics plays a big role in boxing. THeyre both olympic gold medalists, they have built in credibility because of that. It's not the first time olympic medalists get undeserved title shots and it wont be the last.

You have to be either interim champion (like Rossel) or ranked #1 and #2 to fight for a vacant belt. Shiming shouldn't even be ranked period. Rossel will need a knockout to win.

Honestly, Zou Shiming does nothing for me as boxing fan. I wish him all the best, but old as fighters in under 10 round fights is straight ass to me.
