Roy Jones was roided out of his mind back then but i'll still go with Joe by split decision. Calzaghe was special.

Prime Calzaghe vs Prime RJJ @168: who wins?

A prime nasty and possibly P4P hardest punching version of RJJ would have folded a prime Calzaghe like it was nothing. RJJ before his bad KO loss was a beast.

Roy by quick/early KO... Griffin type KO... A prime Roy Jones Jr is too more for most of the greats of the past and present!

Jones no doubt **** he dropped Calz out of his prime so just think if he fought the Jones Virgil Hill or Montel Griffin or James Toney etc.fought he wouldn't have no chance without real punching power. Although I do like Joe just cant fk with a Prime Roy.

Could have gone either way, I would bet on Calzaghe. Fast, had better power at that time than he did at the end of his career, had a solid chin and was a southpaw to boot.I think he gives Roy problems at any point in his career.
Roy relied so much on his physical attributes. No one could match his speed at that time. Joe wasn't as fast but where Roy was an A+ in the speed department, Joe was an A. The difference was Calzaghe's ability to adapt. I think he takes Roy in to deep waters and eventually drowns him.

Calzaghe could've moved to 175 between 1997 and 2002-2003 when Roy was on top of of the 175 mountain. Calzaghe wanted no part of Jones. Jones would have HUMILIATED him. Calzaghe would've had 0.01% of knocking Jones out with a slap. FFS a shot Jones nearly KNOCKED Calzaghe Out in a round.
