Showtimes plans will fail unless the Pac Floyd fight happens

They're quite clearly making significant losses with this ****** deal they gave to Floyd, the plan obviously being to be what people call the ''Loss Leader'' and draw attention to their brand as the premier PPV source.

They've got a good roster of talented fighters with their exclusive deal with Golden Boy promotions, and keeping this relationship with Golden Boy exclusive is crucial if their plans are to succeed.

Breaking even with Floyd's 6 fight PPV deal would probably be worthwhile because of the future monopoly of talent they would have with Golden Boy's fighters, but I don't see them breaking even, they will probably make a pretty big loss, it was obvious after the Canelo fight, the fact Canelo got dominated so badly meant no one really had any future realistic hope in seeing Mayweather lose (which is why most people watch him) that's why Guerrero and Maidana did such **** numbers, and so would every other fighter not named Pacquiao.

This is also why Shaefer is so p1ssed that Oscar has shown a willingness to work with Top Rank/HBO again and is on friendly terms with Arum. If Golden Boy fighters were to start fighting on HBO it would be a humiliating waste of money on Showtime's part in giving Floyd that deal.

    Just my thoughts.

That fight would have to be on showtime.

CBS Posts 6% Gain in Profit, Benefiting From Showtime

CBS reported Thursday that its first-quarter earnings rose 6 percent as higher licensing fees from the company’s Showtime network helped it overcome an advertising downturn caused by less sports programming. CBS has been reducing its reliance on the volatile advertising market by seeking higher fees from cable, satellite and Internet video providers. The company attributed a 12 percent decline in its advertising sales to the rotating rights to the Super Bowl. After appearing on CBS last year, the Super Bowl shifted to Fox this year. The absence of the Super Bowl accounted for nearly all of the ad decrease during the first three months of this year, CBS said. The network also broadcast two fewer games during the N.C.A.A. men’s basketball tournament than it did last year. Revenue from CBS’s cable networks rose 12 percent from last year. CBS earned $468 million, or 78 cents a share, in the first quarter. That compares with $443 million, or 69 cents a share, a year earlier. Revenue fell 5 percent from last year to $3.86 billion. Analysts, on average, had projected earnings of 75 cents a share on revenue of $3.92 billion.

I don't think Showtime have an official exclusive deal with golden boy. Espinoza has said otherwise. But it's clear Showtime do only work with gbp.
