Would be amazing if he could recover. It's a shame that back injury took so much of his career away

He'll be at least 34 years old when he comes back. He's going to be shot as fuck with a 2 year layoff.

Get him a comeback fight, see what he's got left, and if he looks alright and comes out of it healthy, maybe you make a Golovkin fight.

Or Matt Korobov, if he Uzcategui.

There's very little chance he can just come back at his age like nothing happened after years in limbo.

He might simply be looking for a couple HBO fights for the $$$ then calling it quits again, but who blames him? He never got to cash in on his big Jacobs KO.

Was just thinking about this guy last week, and how it was such a shame that he and Golovkin never had their showdown. I always liked Pirog's style, but he could never seem to score any good KOs after the Jacobs fight. Against Ishida it looked like he straight-up ran out of ideas.

I hope he comes back and reclaims his spot in the division, but it doesn't sound like that'll happen anytime soon. A nagging back injury would likely play havoc with his weird style.
