Like what exactly? Aside from fighting Floyd (who will never fight him) and Sergio at 160 (if he beats Miguel but will be too big), what fights out there will have an impact in Pacquiao's legacy?

Money is really the only factor left and Pacquiao seems content with what he's being paid at TR, otherwise he probably wouldn't be there. He probably has 3-4 fights left in him, JMM 5 being one. Hopefully Arum and DLH can get things straightened out so that the other few remaining are with GB fighters.

Make Haymon, Schaefer and Oscar kiss my feet if I was Pacquiao. But only Oscar would do that, so your point is invalid with all those Haymon fighters.

If he wanted to fight him it would have happened a long time ago given the type of purses that would have been involved. The guy has been on record voicing his displeasure about a possible fight with Pacquiao and calling himself a coward FFS.

This ship has sailed. Floyd not fighting Pacquiao won't be the only dubious sh%t that he'll be remembered by, albeit it will be the most infamous one.
I have to do my best not to use foul language...

You do understand its on pac right that the fight isnt gonna happen ever?!?!?!

The dude 99% didnt even negotiate, how crazy can you be??????? I wanna hear more about this. I hope reporters really sitdown with pac for atleast 30 min. to get all the answers...

I agree this goes beyond FMJ, the **** Pac and Arum are doing isnt sport man. They are the real cherry pickers IMO. but hey everything pac does is ok. I get sick of the double standards. How can anyone with a right mind agree to extend without knowing what both sides can offer you? Its beyond crazy to me

Haymon has no problems with Manny. As long as Manny would co-promote his fights with GBP the way Cotto did, then Haymon wouldn't mind working with him. Haymon has beef with Arum, not Manny. With Arum not being involved, why would Haymon not want to work with him? You're desperate and you're reaching. BIG TIME.

Yes, he hasn't been ducking him when he's been on record saying multiple times he's unwilling to fight him Seriously, sometimes I question people's ability to read between the lines. What I'm alluding to is that Pacquiao resigning with TR has absolutely no bearing whether his fight with Floyd would ever fall through because it won't. Pacquiao can be a promotional free agent and that fight still wouldn't take place.

Honestly, I don't disagree with the notion of him being a promotional free agent. It opens up the possibility for more fights that people want to see. Pacquiao seems content with what TR is giving him. Hopefully the rift between the two promotional companies can be straigthened out so that fight fans can see Pacquiao in there with some fresh faces. Although they wouldn't necessarily be doing anything for his legacy.

Cotto just showed that you can become a free agent, land a Floyd fight, comeback to bob arum in a fight by fight basis, and land big fights like cotto-serg...
Manny is a complete idiot to resign with arum...
And you have seen the contract or its terms?

Why don't you leave your job, take what is essentially a one day contract on a self employed basis to appease only one person. Once you are a free agent, your sole contract can then be negotiated, which may in turn leave you in a worse position than before.

Seriously, why the hell would any boxer give up their security because people sat behind monitors don't like it and brand it idiocy. It is what it is. Sure Manny might not have people around him that put his interests first, but He knows how to work with these people and becoming a free agent (with a new team) could be out of the frying pan and into the fire at this advenced stage of his career.

Manny and Floyd can do what they want. TBH, they are as bad as each other and Manny has possibly tarnished Floyds legacy without throwing a single punch and vice versa.

They don't need each other now.

                    • Good for him. Hopefully he gets a nice signing-on bonus and starts looking after his finances once and for all.

Not reading the rest of this thread but I assume it's the usual suspect who have been brainwashed by Mayweather into thinking Pac should ditch Arum, although no-one has ever provided a legitimate reason as to why Pac has to leave Arum for Floyd to fight him.

Well, aside from the obvious - so Haymon/Mayweather can **** Manny at the negotiating table without Arum looking out for him, while also gleefully damaging Top Rank and HBO's brands.

And we all know those are some great reasons to ditch the guy who helped make you a superstar, so you can beg for a fight against a dude who has never wanted to fight you.
