  • I guarantee we'll get a bunch of idiot posters on here who will not say anything interesting but take the time to take a shot at Pacquiao for signing the extention..rather than commenting on the bigger issue which is overly-prideful and greedy Network Executives and Promoters ruining the sport of boxing...

And this was a terrible move by Pacquiao...clearly shows he has people not looking out for his best interest representing him...there was no reason to resign with Top Rank...Pac should be making the promotional companies and tv networks bid for his services and take the biggest fights available...established fighters like Pac...don't need to sign long-term contracts with promoters...only fighters trying to establish themselves need promoters..and after they become big stars..they want to get out of their deals as soon as possible while Pac acts like Arum is doing him a favor by giving him an extension..smfh...

I know Mayeather ducked Pacquiao numerous times...but Pac should have learned something from Mayweather business-wise.

Very disappointed with this news..and the state boxing..

    • Manny should be his own man, I agree with that. Do as Cotto did. BUT, does leaving Top Rank really guarantee him a fight with Floyd Mayweather? I doubt it.

Remember the Khan/Maidana poll where Khan won the official poll on Mayweather's site for Mayweather's next opponent? Yeah.

Hopefully, Arum and De La Hoya can get some fights going together between Top Rank and Golden Boy boxers. That way, Manny won't have to fight the same recycled opponents over and over (hopefully).

      • Just going to enjoy whatever fights he got left!

Then Floyd dreams up another roadblock and Pac's left in limbo. Bradley had it right, they can't rely on Mayweather.
          You're so full of **** it's hilarious.

          • This doesn't give Mayweather an excuse for ducking Pacquiao...but still an unwise for Pacquiao...

HBO won't televise GBP fights...the guy Ken Hershman who ruined Showtime...has no gone to HBO and ruined boxing altogether...he keeps bragging about ratings of fights on HBO..it's a joke...guy seems so insecure about being a crappy executive who only got his job at HBO because he had connections...he did a terrible job at Showtime should never have been hired by HBO...soon as he left Showtime...Showtime has been better than HBO.

Hershman won't televise GBP fights..he should be blamed for why big fights can't be made with GBP fighters...everyone gives him a pass..and keeps posting news that HBO ratings are doing well...When they really aren't anything special to brag about...

            • Marquez declining a 5th fight would really ruin Pacquiao's plans, that's the only fight that will do good PPV numbers for him.

              • What can I add? Some beta-males like the security of being subservient to others. He must be scared of all the fighters at golden boy or plain ******.

                • Well its rematches for the rest of his career. You can say De La Hoya will make the fights, but everyone knows Oscar's just a figure head, a damn fool if he thinks Working with Arum is good for his business. All the fighter's Manny would need to fight are with Haymon, and its a good chance none of those Haymon fighters are actually signed to GB. TR is dead in the water, hopefully oscar isn't ****** as Pac is in trying to resuscitate.

Finally a great post. Am I disappointed with Manny signing again? Yes. I just don't understand why Floyd refuses to work with Arum. This promotional/networking rivalry is really crippling boxing in such a great era with so many great fights to be made, especially in the 140-160 pound divisions.

                    • Good. He will make much more money with top rank than anywhere else.
