On top of everyhing that's already been said in this thread:

Quillin was losing to Gabe Rosado through like 10 rounds and

Quillin couldn't hurt Gavin Rees at 160lbs

It seems that when a boxer wants to go around calling themselves the best, but not want to actually fight the best possible opposition, they sign with Haymon lol

K2 has bodged this negotiations. Its a fair negotiation in my books, as both from different networks so let them bid for the fight.

Yep, it's obvious, GBP and Shaffer want to keep the belt warm for Canelo.

How do they bid on a fight where HBO has exclusive broadcasting rights.
Why should HBO have to bid on something they already have rights to?
I thought we all knew Golovkin has an exclusive contract with HBO?

Why do you think nobody else could show it in the States?

Is this something we're just pretending isn't real or we ignoring this on purpose?

Middleweight titlist Gennady Golovkin was boxing’s breakout star of 2013.The new darling of HBO’s boxing franchise drew 1.41 million viewers for his Nov.

But HBO now holds exclusive North American television rights to Golovkin***8217;s fights and initially could not accommodate him in its Feb. 1 schedule, not to mention the network was not too thrilled with Adama (22-3, 16 KOs) as the opponent, even though Adama is a noted tough guy who has never been stopped and gave then-titleholder Daniel Geale a very good fight in 2012.
They broadcasted 4 fights in a year and a half too after his dismal debut if you wanna talk loyalty

Quillen shouldn't even be mentioned in the same sentence as GGG

He would get good boy'd in less than 3 rounds

Can't really argue with any of his managers points.
HBO has shown GGG a lot of love, so no real reason to move to Showtime, and especially not for Quillin.
Canelo, Mayweather, yes, but not for Quillin.
