Golovkin's a lot more active in the past year, 5 fights in a 12 month period compared to Quillin's 2.

I think his promotional team successfully got the word out he was willing to fight anyone across three divisions which helped, all the big name sparring stories and videos. All helps build a rep.

Quillin had two exciting fights v N'Dam and Guerrero and he can speak English but it just hasn't translated, GBP don't seem all that interested in pushing him or risking him.

He also has his fights internationally broadcasted.

Also yea... Rangers evidently another team he shows up to for free press.

Why doesn't Quillin go to HBO?

1) He'd finally be able to headline a card
2) Quillin doesn't have an exclusive broadcasting contract with a network

The clock is ticking for GGG. If his people don't start to get him some real fights he will be retired as a B class champion who never really fought anyone worthy of his talent. Sad but true.

Imo Quillin is really poorly promoted. You'd think there's no way the Kazakh puncher would be a bigger star than the American puncher in the States. Yet they're not even comparable in terms of draw.

Lately Quillin has been marketed to the urban audience. He's been featured on worldstar a few times with some semi in-depth video blog documentary type series there.

I don't think hes being promoted well though. He got lost in the shuffle with his identity crisis repping cuba, then michigan, then chicago, then NY.

I've also seen him on good morning america amd he was modeling a suit for a style segment on the show. His wife is a producer at nbc so I'm sure that's how he got that plug.

There doesn't seem to be a dedicated an effective strategy with him, and id say that's partly why he's still on undercards. His team seems like they just try anything that comes up and there's no true direction for crafting an identity for him
