Anyone who enjoyed the movie Borat probably loves Golovkin. Accent is priceless to listen to.

Imo Quillin is really poorly promoted. You'd think there's no way the Kazakh puncher would be a bigger star than the American puncher in the States. Yet they're not even comparable in terms of draw.

Only thing I can fathom is that they're saving him for something. They had opportunities to make semi big fights with Rubio when (and still is) his mando and Daniel Jacobs. Even though Jacobs isn't that big of a draw...he's still bigger Konecny or Guerrero

Gotta be saving him for Canelo or Mayweather

Is either man really promoted all that much? Maybe because I don't have HBO/Sho but I feel that GGG's performances speak for themselves. Plus he looks and acts like a cool dude.

Aside from that GGG's only fought in America four times

He has those NY press conferences...and also invited to all those sporting events (couple of NY teams) and also got invited to some awards show....forgot which one it is too. He's kept his presence up compared to Quillin who vanishes and when he reappears, you don't even know it

That's how it feels with Quillin, so many top MW fighters he could have been put in with yet they haven't put him in any of them. It feels like Haymon's hand at work.

Golovkin's a lot more active in the past year, 5 fights in a 12 month period compared to Quillin's 2.

I think his promotional team successfully got the word out he was willing to fight anyone across three divisions which helped, all the big name sparring stories and videos. All helps build a rep.

Quillin had two exciting fights v N'Dam and Guerrero and he can speak English but it just hasn't translated, GBP don't seem all that interested in pushing him or risking him.

GGG's promoter pushes his name out there. Little things like releasing pics daily. One yesterday had GGG dressed in NY rangers gear (free advertising).

They worked hard in creating a baby faced assassin aura about him, and it worked. His in ring performances only add to it. Fans are drawn to the Assassin persona. Tyson, Duran, Hearns all had that persona. Golovkin has some of that and it draws people in.

Quillin, well nothing really has been done for him. He was guided to a belt, but never capitalized.
