Why wouldn't K2 let HBO and SHO bid on GGG-Quillin? After all, GGG is all HBO has left and SHO just lost $100M on the Mayweather-Maidana fight. In what conceivable world could SHO outbid HBO for GGG-Quillin? In what conceivable world would GGG take less money to fight on a certain network?

In the world of duck duck goose. GGG has now ducked Lara, Ward, and Quillin. But he a good boy doe!

I wouldn't say that, in addition to GGG they still have Pacquiao, Golovkin, Kovalev, Chavez, Garcia, Marquez, Ward and Provodnikov.

He is also to blame, he wants to take the easy road. He could step up like Canelo does and tell them who he wants to fight instead he goes with the flow.

It appears that Schafer was trying to fool GGG's team into getting in a bidding war. But he has to know that he can't dictate the terms for this fight because his fighter is not on the same level. If he's serious and understands Quillin's value, he knows that they have to fight on HBO if they ever want a chance. I guess we'll know in a couple weeks when Schafer makes one of his statements to boxingscene. If he truly believes that this fight requires a bid then imo that is a ducking tactic on his part.
Shaeffer has no intention of ever making this fight. He and Espinoza won't risk losing their only MW belt to HBO before Canelo makes the inevitable move up to 160. Shaeffer also knows that Showtime Boxing has its own fan base that aligns closely with that of Floyd Mayweather's. He knows that even the emptiest of counteroffers are seen as 100% sincere and a genuine effort to do business by these Showtime supporters.

There's nothing to fool, he made an offer that Golovkin couldnt legally accept

GBP is becoming a safe haven for ducks. The funny thing here is Quillin was the one who expressed interest in the GG fight and Quillin's team should be the one making the offer and do whatever it takes to make the fight happen.
