Marquez and Khan both looked terrific in their last fights and it'd be a great match up.

For those who are unaware about Marquez / Beristain avoiding the Khan fight back in 2010 here's the quote (so no trolls in the thread trying to rewrite history and pretend as if they didn't avoid Khan):

According to an article published on Mexican newspaper La Jornada on February 9, current WBA, WBO and Ring Magazine lightweight champ Juan Manuel Marquez (age 36; 50(37)-5-1) has cleared things ...

If they don't avoid Khan this year, who wins?
they didnt avoid khan, they just chose to take a tune up after coming off such a demoralizing loss. getting dominated like that can damage any fighters confidence, thats why they fought diaz who he already knocked out once. you think khan would have fought marquez coming off the garcia KO?

to answer the question marquez would kill him. different class of fighters first of all, but marquez is just far too smart for khan. he would set him up and knock him silly. he is an expert at exposing flaws in a fighter, khans vulnerability to counters, predictability, lack if inside game, habit of taking breaks etc would all spell doom against marquez rather quickly. the only real question is which flaw he exposes to get the KO and whether khan gets laid out on his face or his back.

I think Khan has a good shot to win,but I'd pick Marquez..Just to good at finding holes, and Khan is not good enough defensively not to get tagged and hurt..

i think people overblow how bad kahn's chin is. I could see him turning into the wlad of the lower weights lol. Would like to see him against marquez I reckon most likely scenario is a clear decision for kahn.

if marquez has a particularly bad case of acne he could pull out a big ko shot but don't see him out pointing kahn.

Khan's chin is not his only flaw,a lot of people make this mistake..There is more then one way he can get beat..Although with what we know about Marquez accuracy and Khan's more then dentable chin,Marquez is more then capable of of making it a short night for Khan..

I know Garcia is physically stronger and more durable, but Marquez would have the same kind of success in timing Khan eventually and getting him out of there.

khan outboxes the hell outta him

marquez better come in like he did in the fourth vs pacquiao, he needs the ko/strength, he's not beating khan otherwise

If Khan decides to box, it's a UD victory for Khan.

Marquez is 40 years old. He can no longer keep up with boxers, which is why he had a hard time with Bradley.
At this age Marquez needs to fight guys who come straight at him, so that he can do what he do best, which is counter in combinations.

Again,Khan can not and does not do anything that Bradley can..I agree tho Khan's best chance is to move..At the same time,he is not as defensively responsible and his attack is far predictable..Hell I thought Marquez started getting Bradley's timing towards the end of their fight, and Bradley has far more way's to attack then Khan does..

True, good assessment, Khan should beat him by UD although an ATG like Marquez probably isn't going to make it easy for him.
