Because he can get a $12-$15 million site fee from the Venetian (got $8 mil for Rios) and milk the Chinese PPV w/ Zhou in the co-feature. Plus he stills gets the Filipino and Mexican TV rights $.

I don't think so. Big time gamblers maybe but not to ordinary folks who have the money and are willing to pay exorbitant amounts for a boxing match. Even in PPVs. The $70 can be earned in the US in a day but to ordinary Chinese workers, it would take them a week. And they are not fools to pay such amount

I think total revenue of Macau is like 6 times of Vegas. So in terms of deep pocket yes. But not sure about their interest in PPV or boxing.

            God....why???

I'd be much more interested in Marquez vs Provonikov or Porter.

Which generates more? Butts in seats or eyes on the T.V?

They both get views when they fight each other, but who's been fighting on PPV since.... I can't even remember.

If I'm Marquez, I accept no less than 50/50 and I don't fight in Macau, but somewhere that my country men/women can be there to support me (maybe Texas). Marquez did KO Manny and just gave a brilliant performance against Alvarado. Marquez's problem, however, is that he has no other opponent that is PPV worthy in Top Rank's stable.
how many PAY PER VIEW buys do you think jmm vs alvarado will get? i have a feeling its gonna be at least 700,000 less than pac's last fight.

Why Macau? I bet it's good for Arum's pocket and Manny will make tonnes there too but in terms of PPV, we all know how loaf Americans are at buying foreign PPV events, it's ridiculous but true. The last Many/JMM fight was the biggest of the lot, this could be even bigger if done right.

Although I do like the branching out of boxing and big events. There was a time when titles were defended all around the world and some of the biggest fights took place outside of the US. The boxing market has become too insulated, too Las Vegas based, I'd like it to branch out.
