This is the state of amateur boxing in the Philippines unfortunately. The governing organizations there aren't taking enough measures to ensure things like this don't happen. As much as there are boxing hopefuls in the Philippines, not enough is being done in investing and modernizing the amateur programs. Most hopefuls want to be like Pacquiao and shoot straight up to the pros and things like this happen. There's a lot of talent there but the amateur program isn't there to help develop them.

If this was in the US, there would have been multiple lawsuits. The mayor axed.

Someone should egg on the family to bring the fools to court.

SMH. It needs to be found out exactly why this has happened so it NEVER happens again. A 14yr old should not die boxing. No one should.

Very sad to hear. This is a deadly sport. For one time at least in this situation. Ronnie still could'nt keep out the ( fighter of the decade ) words out of a article.

Another boxing death/injury and armchair boxers are arguing about letting pros wear lightly padded gloves. SMH.

I love this sport but not the injuries that come with it and long term brain damage, but those rotten posters that say "You know the dangers of the sport, why join?"...let me not saying anything too harsh because some posters can't really say anything without getting banned - me included, while others get away with it. This sport can still be very entertainment and fun to watch while making it a little safer. Fans don't care about the families that are affected by these deaths and career ending injuries.
