It was! JMM has turned into the ultimate counter slugger.That fight would be off the hook. Ruslan could definitely stop Jmm but how would he handle jmms counters? That right hand tonight that dropped Alvarado was sensational. To drop a bigger man like that is epic, Alvarado almost landed outside the ring. Ruslan is tough but it's hard to imagine anyone walking through those kind of well placed power shots
Smfh you still talking about Danny bro????Yes! Only because of Marquez' age though. Provo is extremely limited. Danny "Gift" Garcia would stop Provo. I've said this repeatedly. Fact check if you dont believe me. Im in the Danny Gift' Rogues gallery of haters. Check around! Gift lost too bis papi Herrera and loses to to Matthysse in the rematch.
I know he's past it but he's the one fighting know what I mean?? I think Ruslan would have went ham on JMM.Comment

Even though Alvarado that fought Herrera, Rios twice, Prescott would have still lost, he would have made it MUCH more interesting. I think it's clear as **** Mike has lost something with basically 5 consecutive wars in a row. So Marquez even this past it was able to have his way and then some.
I agree Ruslan, who's much fresher than Mike, and ultimately even more grueling, would have made it more interesting.
That's why it should have been him in there. Mike should've been the one taking a tune up, he lost the fight. JMM should've been fighting Provonikov. Too bad he didn't want it. It's not like Provonikov is a beast that's unstoppable...he lost to Herrera.
The funny thing is we're talking about these Top Rank guys, Rios/Alvarado/Provonikov, and NONE are probably even as good as Maidana. LOLComment

I was calling JMM a ***** for not fighting Ruslan cuz I know the potential that fight had. Alvarado ain't bout that life no more. But Ruslan is! He don't give a **** and will fight hard till the end. If that was him, idk who wins, id favor Ruslan but I know it would have been a crazy war.Even though Alvarado that fought Herrera, Rios twice, Prescott would have still lost, he would have made it MUCH more interesting. Dude. You embarrass yourself. Marquez is 40+ years old. He has fought a bunch of awesome fights with a bunch of awesome fighters. If at this late stage of his career he decides not to fight some guy, so what?
Have you seen that commercial (maybe it's just a comedy short?) where some sportscaster in New York City is asking random passerby what they thought of some famous baseball player and invites them to say to a cardboard likeness of said player what they think about him? As soon as they start going off about ***** moves and the like, the player walks out from behind the cardboard likeness and they go all wobbly kneed and begin to lavishly compliment him.
I think that's you and guys like you that denigrate fighters all the time on here;
I suspect that were you to meet Marquez in person, you would drop down on your knees and gobble **** like a drug addicted hooker that ain't turned a trick in 12 hrs.Comment
