      "THAT" Marquez was "THAT" Marquez because he was fighting Mike Alvarado. Marquez is still way past his prime, he looked good because Alvarado was gun shy and not in his league.

        Without a doubt, Marquez would have been ktfo by Prov. Etch that on stone.

          It was! JMM has turned into the ultimate counter slugger.

            Even though Alvarado that fought Herrera, Rios twice, Prescott would have still lost, he would have made it MUCH more interesting. I think it's clear as **** Mike has lost something with basically 5 consecutive wars in a row. So Marquez even this past it was able to have his way and then some.

            I agree Ruslan, who's much fresher than Mike, and ultimately even more grueling, would have made it more interesting.

            That's why it should have been him in there. Mike should've been the one taking a tune up, he lost the fight. JMM should've been fighting Provonikov. Too bad he didn't want it. It's not like Provonikov is a beast that's unstoppable...he lost to Herrera.

            The funny thing is we're talking about these Top Rank guys, Rios/Alvarado/Provonikov, and NONE are probably even as good as Maidana. LOL

              I was calling JMM a ***** for not fighting Ruslan cuz I know the potential that fight had. Alvarado ain't bout that life no more. But Ruslan is! He don't give a **** and will fight hard till the end. If that was him, idk who wins, id favor Ruslan but I know it would have been a crazy war.

                      Dude. You embarrass yourself. Marquez is 40+ years old. He has fought a bunch of awesome fights with a bunch of awesome fighters. If at this late stage of his career he decides not to fight some guy, so what?

                      Have you seen that commercial (maybe it's just a comedy short?) where some sportscaster in New York City is asking random passerby what they thought of some famous baseball player and invites them to say to a cardboard likeness of said player what they think about him? As soon as they start going off about ***** moves and the like, the player walks out from behind the cardboard likeness and they go all wobbly kneed and begin to lavishly compliment him.

                      I think that's you and guys like you that denigrate fighters all the time on here;

                      I suspect that were you to meet Marquez in person, you would drop down on your knees and gobble **** like a drug addicted hooker that ain't turned a trick in 12 hrs.
