He was never a elite fighter to begin with & with Top Ranks laughably small stable he has few legit options.

He won't get a Marquez rematch.
      He won't get PAC.
He won't get a Ruslan rematch.

      That leaves Timothy Bradley....

Go back to the drawing board.. and yes it may be espn (if he's lucky). Get some wins under his belt. Take what he learned in this fight and the Ruslan fight and fight a light punching boxer so he can get his confidence up and hopefully beat him. Once he is here he can try and fight another world class fighter. If he doesn't make it to that point he probably needs to really think about retiring.

He needs to go to WW and take a little break with softer touches. He has taken so many beatings by hard punchers throwing a lot. Prescott, Rios 2X, Prov, JMM.

Too many consecutive wars. Prescott, Herrera, Rios twice, Provo and now Marquez (less of a war, more of a beating). He needs 1 or 2 soft touches on undercards and then next year finish the Rios trilogy (Rios should do the same). Loser of that is more or less done, winner will prob get another big fight and payday

Alvarado shouldn't have even been in there.....Marquez is an ATG but he straight up ducked Provonikov, and everybody knows it. No promotional hold up or anything....he straight fought the guy who lost the previous fight.

Alvarado should have been the guy taking a tune up. I think the Prescott, Rios 2x, Provonikov fights took something out of him. He looked gun shy.

                    GOAT quote.

Rios Trilogy or fight Vargas. Decent test for Vargas working his way up. Alvarado has now become Top Rank's Berto.

Alvarado fought like he was scared to get knocked out again. Not the same action fighter. Saw a couple glimpses of his old self after JMM hit him hard a couple of times.

Alvarado Rios 3.. is the most makeable... If he loses that, he's done and should retire and enjoy what he has made in his career.
