For taking control of his career at the cost of turning that big money down. I would call it being principled, something not a lot of people are.

He thinks he'll make more money this way. That's the only 'principle' at work here.

What principal, what exactly does he gain from turning down the deal? The answer is nothing, he just wont take a bad beating from Golovkin. Its a terrible duck and his bluff was called

He wasnt signing his life away, it was a 2 fight deal
He didnt want to resign anything. Nothing with the word extension attached. He wanted to have his fight then bounce. And he's going for it. No one wants to give him props for standing up to the promoter. Promoters have been pulling this stunt forever. Not this time.

That is not a sure thing though, it is a big risk he would be taking. I would also say standing up for what he truly believes, in the face of harsh criticism when he could just have taken the easy road and cashed in.

PBP with a series of brilliant posts in this thread.

Also does make you wonder about GBP's Welterweight roster. It's very deep and full of talent but none of them seem to be fighting each other. Schaefer made some great match-ups a while ago when he was trying to make a statement after the split from HBO but now it seems to be the recycling of Paulie, Judah, Collazo, Diaz, Soto-Karass etc against all the talent.

But you could pretty much randomly pick names out of a hat and make a great fight against each other from a roster of Thurman-Chino-Porter-Lucas-Khan-Broner-Guerrero.

Maybe you could say the real smart move one of these guys could make is to migrate to HBO for a Pacquaio fight, where, let's face it, they would get more money than they would for fighting Floyd.

They are trying to get the PR fanbase behind him because boxing just isn't big in the U.S.

Your problem is you think boxing is more popular than it really is. Bradley is the #3 welterweight and has achived a lot but that doesn't mean **** in terms of drawing power. Drawing power is about who you are and where your from.

My advice to any young fighter is to make as much money in your boxing career as you can and retire healthy.
Negroid, you picked Porter and Thurman because they are the least popular fighters at gb. It was another one of your slick tricks. Im Chavezing ya azz lol jk.

You dont know what I think about boxing. I never said anything about drawing power. All I talked about what Bradley wasting his time on bums. You dont think young fighters should make as much money as possible. lol

You just couldnt find a way to debate with me so thats all you could keep talking about was how much money he made fighting bums at tr. Every thing you said was cheap slickery lol

Bounce where, he's with Arum till Oct 2015. I guess sitting and not getting paid is a better deal than fighting and getting 17 mil in pretty much the same time span.

He's the moral winner i guess, i call it ducking

Bro its very obvious that your biased against Chavez. He didnt avoid anyone. This kid fought Martinez and Andy Lee when no one wanted to fight them.

He's one of these young guys who will fight anyone. And I bet he fights GGG before Martinez. You just dont want to give him credit for outsmarting the promoter. Look at Bradley this fool fell for it. Chavez of ALL people did not. Stop being a hater.

Your one of these guys that goes out of your way to hate on this fighter and that fighter. I dont do that bs. I tell it like it is. Im not biased for Chavez at all. I was purely shocked.
