    not at all.

i never compared what boxers do to what firemen do. you just failed to see the point i was making.

    the point is..

people are basically saying if you do something brave by free will it doesnt count. if you apply that same logic to people who choose to save lives, they arent really heroes. i never compared boxers to them, just applied the same logic to them, choosing them for dramatic effect. apparently the only effect i got was you completely failing to comprehend what i was trying to get across.

fighters choose to be gladiators, firemen choose to be heroes. what they choose doesnt really matter though. what matters is that they did just that, choose. and by choosing (and getting paid) to do something they deserve no credit according to people on this site.

Like I said I give them credit. They also get compensated handsomely as they should do. This is a factor in their free will though, they don't do it as a selfless sacrifice for our entertainment, they do it for the financial reward. I would like to see them paid more though all the same.

Bernard Hopkins takes timeouts all the time. He just drops to his knees and pretends that he got hit in the nuts or hit in the back of the head or that Father Time showed up and suddenly his knees were too creaky to stand.

Totally agree!! Main problem is fans have a handful of fav fighters that they respect.....then every1 else is a "bum".
I love and respect boxing, and of course there are fighters that I don't like but I still respect the fact they dedicate there lives to a sport!

How good is boxing really!!! Man I f@$king love it. The test of will. The amount of heart! Especially big PPV fights. U watch the build up, hear all the stories, interviews, watch all access or 24/7. Then comes fight night. The excitement, watching the undercards then time for the main event. The national anthems, showing the fighters ready in the dresser room! I love that bit!!! That's the point where I acknowledge it's all come down to this moment in 2 fighters lives! I get chills up the spine every time!!! The other week was 1 of the only times where my mrs was there during the anthems and I was all happy as and just had to say " I love this... Like I absolutely fuc@&ng love this"
Then the fight!!!! Which always seems to go to fast!

          " I love and respect boxing!!! "

Respect is earned in that ring it can't be bought.

The little guys that get crushed by up and comers do it for the love of the sport. They get paid next to nothing.
