90 percent of the people on this site are Dan Rafeal like. IE. They only talk about it they are not actually about it. I sparred my cousin in high school and the worst part of sparring someone smaller than you, who knows how to box, is punching air. There is nothing more tiring that consistently hitting nothing but air.
have you ever spar with boxer smaller than you?

anyone who has boxed for an extended period of time would have, at some stage, sparred someone smaller than them. I've s parred a few welters and lightweights and if they are physically strong, it can be a good session, add to that their obvious advantage in speed.Comment

Nice try, but I don't buy that excuse. I'm over 200 but I'm just as fast as a welterweight. How may punches can you throw in 5 seconds?anyone who has boxed for an extended period of time would have, at some stage, sparred someone smaller than them. Very difficult when these little dwarfs with alot of experience can hit you get away and you just have a tough time landing anything on them.Originally posted by THE REED™Yup.
I always did better with heavyweights than lightweights.
Speed and footwork is more of a chess match, HWs are easier to work out in sparring.. not necessarily in a real fight, obviously.Comment

This is why when i see people saying they can beat pro boxers because they are bigger then them, i know that person has never been to a boxing gym in his life. a 130 pound experienced boxer will brutally beat a 200 pound untrained man. You would not lay a glove on him and his accurate punches will bust your face up in less then a minuteComment

i've witnessed well trained professional boxers beat the hell out of guy bigger and taller but no expriences
i guess size only matters when you're trained at least over 1 yearComment

When I was 24 years old I sparred a teenage 120ish kid from the Springfield cobras, I was about 150 at the time, and this kid brutalized me in my own gym... He didn't really hurt me, but he just blinded me with hand speed.. We went 2 rounds and he dominated the first, i did better the 2nd but he still probably won it. But it was a great experience learning how to deal with faster hand speed.
I also had a longtime gym sparring mate who was always about 15-20 lbs lighter and I was much taller, but his handspeed always derived me crazy, and he had good lateral movement.. I could usually win most rounds, but he was always the one that made me work the hardest...Comment

Spot on... I fought between 145-168 and sparred thousands of rounds vs all levels of experience and sizes.... Smaller guys that skilled are very tough to deal with.. I always sparred much better vs bigger guys...Originally posted by THE REED™Yup.
