I really hope that Martinez is able to perform well on fight night and I wish him the best. However based on these photos of him not only looking old and wearing all of those sleeves and braces, plus the fact that he's been out of the ring all this time due to recurring injuries, and his advanced age, it's kinda difficult to imagine him being able to pull of this fight. I also read a comment that Martinez is not even running during this training camp which I don't know if it's true or not but if it is, it leaves even less hope. As of right now I think that Martinez is going to cash out on this fight and lose by KO or TKO, and if the tko happens I think it will be from him retiring in his corner after not being able to continue.
Martinez is a great champion and a great person outside the ring and whatever happens on June 7th won't erase everything he's accomplished in and out of the ring, and all of the respect he's earned will remain.
lol Gotcha. In truth, although all those things look similar, they all have a different purpose. A brace provides the most support. It's not encouraging to see an athlete wearing one, since it belies a considerable injury. Sleeves are more on the the****utic tip, and pads are meant to cushion impact. I don't like seeing Sergio wearing anything on his joints at this stage, as it raises concern over his physical condition.
This is true. So there was no need for him to come in the thread acting like the almighty know it all.
I'm baffled that anyone outside of Cotto supporters or people who hate Sergio could possibly convince themselves that this will even be a fight. The only thing keeping me from betting A LOT of real money on Sergio by KO is the small chance he has to retire in the fight due to an injury to his knee. Otherwise Id bet the house on Sergio by stoppage. This fight might as well have a picture of Sergio smiling on the poster holding bags with dollar signs on them with the tag line "Victory Lap." I like Cotto. He will fight anyone and always makes a showing of himself. But the best case scenario for him here is a quick knockout instead of the kind of sustained beating that will cause him to stutter for the rest of his life. No chance here. None. Nothing he does better that will matter.
