Big ups to Haitian boxing doing their thing right now!!!

In the last year they've captured the WBC light heavyweight and the WBC heavyweight titles. Bermane having the big win last Saturday and Stevenson riding high on a streak of 10 stoppages and big win against Dawson. Also Pascal had a great showing against Bute. I'm sure he's being positioned for some type of title fight.

Keep doing your thing Haiti, congratulations.

As expected. Haiti is much smaller in population so having 2 champions is a big deal.

You are not much of a Haitian athlete if you are consuming north american resources. I've spent a lot of time in the island of Hispaniola, there aren't any gyms worth training in either side of the island. There's not even any interest there, on the sport of boxing. How Fortuna has gotten to this point? No one knows, I think he trains himself in golds gym in the Dr. Those Haitians guys you mentioned are as Haitian as Floyd is African. Or as puerto rican as Danny Garcia.

Not really trying to get technical here, I'm just saying they're of Haitian descent. They were born there. They were raised else-where and none fight out of the country (Haiti), but they have Haitian blood running through them.

These guy although don't "officially" represent Haiti, but if you want to go with "descent" then:

              From Canada:

              1) Stevenson
              2) Pascal
              3) Stiverne
              4) Joachim Alcine: former WBA 154lbs champion

Few prospects on the rise from Canada like Dierry Jean who fought for Peterson's IBF title was also Haitian born. Haitians end up moving to the French speaking part of Canada (Quebec) because that is what Haitians speak as well and Quebec is a boxing hotbed, so yeah.

              From U.S.:

              There is only Andre Berto.

Not quite, Stevenson and Stiverne were both born in Haiti to Haitian parents. Stevenson grew up there. They both speak the language too.

Garcia and Mayweather were born in Philly and Grand Rapids, the latter to American parents.
