why are people saying canelo struggled against trout?

IDK. Close but clear fight IMO. Laded cleaner, showed better defense, and controlled where the fight went. He basically won 3 of the 4 judging aspects outright.

The scorecards are what people have a problem with.

Lara will give him trouble, but I have hopes he pulls it out in good fashion. He's only improving.

Trout was a respectable opponent, one of the first he'd faced, so in a way Canelo's stock did go up after that fight. But taking the fight by itself he wasn't a convincing winner. Not by a long shot.

Is was a close fight. If not for the open scoring I thought Trout may have been ahead. Besides the knock down Canelo was barely throwing punches. I thought it was a close fight and could have gone either way.

Canelo won by a few rounds, especially with the KD. The hate for this kid runs deep for some reason.

I didn't see much struggling if any. Trout who beat the brakes off Cotto, he was showing frustration and was struggling. Canelo fought his fight and won.

Struggle seems to suggest Trout is a garbage fighter (which he is not). Styles make fights and that style will always give a fighter like Canelo trouble.
