I feel after watching the fight, it will end quite early. Stiverne is too slow and sits on the ropes too much. With Wilder like Wlad, you have to move don't paddle around. I like Stiverne but I feel like he will lose quite easy and everyone will again say the competition was lacking.Comment

Too many Boxing fans are wined, dined, and seduced by unbeaten fighters with a lot of KO's. There are serious questions about Wilder's chin, legs, and certainly his stamina. The worse thing management can do is put their fighter in fights that do not go more than 4 rounds because that sets them up for guaranteed failure by not developing stamina which is critical to long-term success and this tells me they are obviously protecting him for some reason. I suspect it comes down to his chin and legs which will fail him, maybe more so his stamina. He has a serious flaw and they want to cash out before he is exposed. That's why he hasn't fought anyone worthy of his top contender status.
They did the same thing with David Lemieux and I told people what happens when Lemieux goes past a few rounds and the guy in front of him hasn't fallen yet? The Rubio fight was an obvious setup that went wrong because Rubio had been stopped 2-3 times.....but Rubio didn't get the memo. I have seen the Lemieux situation played out more times than I can even count over the years. You would think by now in this day of age, no management would ever match a guy up where he has not fought past the 4th round to get to this "level". It's insane, but they are acting like they are protecting something vulnerable in Wilder. Some area, be it his chin, legs, or stamina will fail him big time but they are hoping to cash out before then. Every fighter that has ever lived, no matter how big a puncher faces guys that will barely flinch from their biggest shot, and then what? The deep blue sea is very deep after 4 rounds and because he is at this level of contender status, not having gone 4, 6, 8, or 10 full rounds, he cannot possibly have great stamina, it has to be built up over years, over distance fights, especially at heavyweight where the legs get tired sooner than in the lighter weight fighters. And he has no distance fights, not even a full 4 rounds. Recipe for disaster, BIG TIME. Once he is knocked out, he will still get fights but it will always come down to whether he goes or the other guy goes first, Russian roulette, two guys each with a bullet.Last edited by richardt; 05-12-2014, 11:44 AM.Comment

There is one area where I need Wilder to prove to me that he does better than Stiverne in...
He needs to do better than Stiverne at taking a punch. Wilder's chin still hasn't been tested at the pro level. We know in the amateurs Wilder's chin was suspect and that was with head gear on...Comment

Heavyweight contender Deontay Wilder was in attendance at the Bermane Stiverne and Chris Arreola heavyweight clash this past Saturday night as he got a close look at his possible future opponent. Wilder is the mandatory challenger for Stiverne’s newly acquired WBC title and hopes to get in the ring with him soon.
Wilder won a bronze medal in the 2008 Olympics but he’s eager to put some gold around his waist and capture his first world title. He now knows that he will need to go through Stiverne in order to make his dream a reality and he feels it will be an easy night for him when they meet.

Yes, Don King will want to milk the (WBC) title as long as he can. They'll petition the WBC to allow them a optional defense against someone like Charr or Cunningham before stepping up to fight Wilder.
At Stiverne's rate, he'll be back in action this time next year. Hope Wilder takes an interim fight or twoComment
